Privacy Policy

Effective September 18, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Real World Training, Inc. and its subsidiaries and affiliates (doing business as "Intuit QuickBooks Training," "Real World Training," "we," "our," or "us") collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you visit our website, create an account, purchase a membership, attend a class or webinar, or otherwise use our services (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Account information. Your name, email address, and password credentials when you create an account or sign in. Authentication is handled by our identity provider, Clerk.
  • Payment information. When you purchase a membership or course, your payment card details are collected and processed by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our systems. We retain a record of your transactions, plan, and billing status.
  • Training and usage data. Courses you access, lessons you complete, certificates you earn, classes and webinars you register for or attend, and your progress through the Services.
  • Communications. Information you provide when you contact support, request 1-on-1 help, or correspond with us, including the content of those messages.
  • Device and analytics data. IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages viewed, referring URLs, and similar information collected automatically through cookies and analytics tools (see Section 4).

For California residents, the categories of personal information we collect map to the following CCPA/CPRA categories: identifiers (name, email, IP address, device identifiers); commercial information (transactions, plan, billing history); internet or other electronic network activity information (pages viewed, referral sources, click and interaction data, cookies); professional or employment-related information you voluntarily provide; and inferences we draw from the above (such as learning progress and learner profile).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Services and your account;
  • Process payments, manage subscriptions, and send receipts and billing notices;
  • Deliver courses, live classes, webinars, certificates, and 1-on-1 help;
  • Respond to your questions and provide customer support;
  • Send service-related and, where permitted, promotional communications;
  • Improve the Services, measure performance, and develop new features;
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, security issues, and abuse; and
  • Comply with our legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share personal information only as described below:

  • Service providers. We share information with vendors who perform services on our behalf, including Clerk (authentication), Stripe (payment processing), Mailgun (email delivery), Google (analytics and tag management), Zoom (live classes and webinars), PostHog (product analytics and session replay), Sentry (error monitoring), Chatbase (customer chat, which may be assisted by an AI assistant), and Cloudflare (security and bot mitigation, including Turnstile). We may also engage other operational service providers to help us run the Services (for example, hosting, storage, security, and additional analytics or error-monitoring providers). These providers may process your information only to provide services to us.
  • Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others, or to investigate fraud.
  • Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Services, remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and understand how the Services are used. We use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and PostHog to measure traffic, understand product usage, and improve the Services. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings; disabling cookies may affect how the Services function. We honor recognized opt-out preference signals where required by law.

On selected pages (such as our checkout), we use PostHog Session Replay to record interactions with the page, including mouse movement, clicks, scrolling, and page content, so we can diagnose usability issues and reduce errors during purchase. Sensitive input fields (including payment card, email, and name inputs) are masked before capture and are not transmitted to PostHog. Marketing pages outside of the checkout do not record session replays.

5. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. You can update your account information at any time by signing in, or contact us using the details in Section 10 to make a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; to request deletion or correction of their personal information; and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information as those terms are defined under California law. We do not sell your personal information. To exercise the right to opt out of sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, use our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page. You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.

Residents of the EEA and United Kingdom (GDPR/UK-GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection with respect to your personal data. Our lawful bases for processing include: performance of the contract we have with you (to provide the Services you purchase); our legitimate interests (to secure, maintain, and improve the Services, and to communicate with you about your account); your consent (for optional cookies and marketing communications, where required); and compliance with our legal obligations. Personal data is stored in the United States; where we transfer data from the EEA or UK to the United States, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism. To exercise your rights or raise a concern, contact us using the details in Section 10. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account password confidential.

8. Children's Privacy

The Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective" date above and post the updated Policy on this page. Your continued use of the Services after a change indicates your acceptance of the updated Policy.
